This is an animatic of our story board which we made as an alternative to a prelim. This is because making a prelim would be too difficult as we would literally be recreating our final producing with all the editing we would have to do.
We have cut our story board to our song 'I gave it all' in order to get a feel for how the shots will look in the final product. This enabled us to get an understanding of how the shots will form together within the timings of the song. Whilst this would inevitable be an unrealistic and inaccurate representation of what we hope to create, it has still allowed us to see what the formation of shots we have come up with looks like put together down on paper.
Clearly we have learnt that the shot duration is far too long and therefore we need to think about a wider rage of shots to think about for our music video. In addition to this we focused a lot of these shots on medium and mid shots whereas to get across the emotional complexity and resonance for our target audience, we will need to have more close ups and also panning and tilting shots. This will enable us to linger on parts of the body and show bruises to further enhance the domestic violence narrative of our music video. We will also have to have more cross cutting between the singer and the actress to enable the audience to fully understand that we are trying to get across that this music video is about domestic abuse within their relationship not a story of love.
